The Garden of Good and Evil (2022)
The first of two exhibitions of sculpture, The Garden of Good and Evil, ran from June 11-July 24, 2022, curated by George Spencer.
Sculpture by Gerald Wolfe
Sculpture by Troy Williams
This exhibition reflected the times in which we are living, process and instability. It featured work which had one or more of the following characteristics: is incomplete, has parts that move or are otherwise unstable, with raw materials and non traditional techniques. Chance and serendipity are important as is the possibility of multiple ways of displaying, viewing and understanding the work. Also important is the concept (or mis-conception) of completion in a crazy world.
The sculptors in the show included Bibiana Huang Matheis, Burr Dodd, Ellen Jouret-Epstein, Francine Hunter McGivern, Gerald Wolfe, Karl Jensen, Linda Mussmann, Sher Stevens and Spencer Hall.
As part of the opening there will be a performance by The Taconic String Quartet of Dave Soldier’s Bambaataa Quartet and Beethoven’s Opus 74.
Sculpture by Non-Sculptors (2022)
The second of two exhibitions of sculpture, Sculptures by Non-Sculptors, ran from August 6-September 10, 2022, curated by George Spencer featuring work from Pauline DeCarmo/Leo Fuentes, Ellen Letcher, Ifetayo Cobbins, Marta Jaremko, Andy Pellettieri, Eric Banks, GREATBOXERS, Baju Wijono, Sienna Reid, Tom McGill and Troy Williams.
