Our Mission
Our mission is to produce and perform classical music, jazz, written word, and dance in an intimate, comfortable “salon concert” setting - an essential format familiar to composers like Schubert, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin and Liszt. Our aim is to promote new works / compositions and to create a cultural, intellectual exchange between artists and audience that can only be achieved within a small intimate setting. Our concerts are free (though donations are accepted) and run 90 minutes in length.
Our intent at The GAC is to also create an environment for composers to explore where the classical and jazz traditions intersect. To this end, we actively seek out artists and composers whose capacities allow them to create new works for ensembles and solo artists in both Jazz and Classical. This approach is often referred to as the ‘Third Stream’ – a way for the composer to create a new set of works that draw on the best of both traditions; and who will thrive in this environment, connect with audiences and create a new body of works.
