Jon Morrell, GM/Artistic Director Splendid. imposing. Dramatic. Powerful. These are just some of the words critics have used to describe the American tenor Jon Morrell. “A splendid tenor of powerful voice and impressive art” wrote the Times Union, He has in just a few years become an acclaimed Otello, Samson, Peter Grimes, Florestan (Fidelio), Siegmund (Die Walküre) and Parsifal. A respected recitalist and soloist, Morrell is a member of the Concordia Foundation in London, and performs regularly in the UK.
As well as having an active singing career, Morrell has had a long career producing operas, recitals and concerts, and was the Artistic Director of both Manhattan Opera Ensemble and Long Island Opera in his early 20’s (with Thomas Carlo Bo as Music Director for Long Island Opera), where he was key to raising funds, selecting repertoire and managing staff in both operas companies. Morrell was for 10 years Vice President of his family’s business, Morrell and Company (the Morrell Wine Group), where he was responsible for Operations and Human Resources.
Thomas Carlo Bo, Music Director/Artistic Director Bo has worked both as Music Director, programmer and board member of Opera at Florham, and has over 40 years experience as a composer, conductor, administrator and teacher. He was Music Director of Opera Music Theater International, a young artists program for opera singers under the direction of legendary Met bass Jerome Hines, Music Director of the Long Island Opera at SUNY in Old Westbury, and Interim Music Director of the Massapequa Philharmonic.
Jon Di Fiore, Director of Jazz Mr. Di Fiore, is a drummer, composer and recording artist in the jazz tradition, influenced by classical, modern, and world music. Mr Di Fiore has performed with NYC greats such as The Steve LaSpina Group, Joel Frahm, Rich Perry, Billy Drewes, Randy Brecker, Matthew Fries, Steve Davis, Scott Robinson, and Paul Meyers.
Madeleine Morrell, Director of Theater Madeleine is an actor/singer/composer born in NYC and is currently based in Brooklyn NY. Raised by two opera singers, Madeleine has wanted to be an artist since she was very small. She’s studied with inspirational teachers at Shakespeare and Co. and Maggie Flanigan, and is a rock and roll singer and musician on the side. She’s recently been in the film and stage play “Denny Barracuda”, and has been in a multitude of other short films that have been shown in film festivals all over the U.S. (La Hermosa, Red Eye, Strands and more).
George Spencer, Curator of Art Mr. Spencer has curated two Sculpture shows for The GAC: Winter Over(2021, in collaboration with the Joyce Goldstein Gallery in Chatham and TSL in Hudson) and The Garden of Good and Evil, the first of two exhibitions of sculpture for the 2022 season. Published in magazines and anthologies, George has produced and directed documentaries that regularly aired on TimeWarner’s Manhattan Neighborhood Network and were screened at Millennium Film Workshop, Filmmaker Co-op, Gathering of the Tribes, Brecht Forum and various other progressive venues in New York City. In addition to curating sculpture exhibitions at the Garage at Chatham, he curated an exhibition of paintings by 15 Italian and American artists at l’ARTeficIO in Torino, Italy. He also does radio interviews with artists and other creative people on WGXC.
Sara Troy, Social Media, Media Communications/Outreach Ms. Troy is a recent graduate of the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, where she studied communications and digital media. She is a budding artist with passion for videography and photography.
